On October 23rd, Kim and I packed up the van with supplies and started our first mural project of 2020.Received a kind email asking if Kim & I would like to paint a message for the Frontline Workers. Yes of course, please send us more details. After a couple emails and a phone call later. The only question was when & where. The two, 8 by 4 feet property for sale SOLD signs were removed from Base Line Rd E, across from Victoria Hospital and relocated to a suitable socially distant space. Arrived shortly after 8:30 am and painted till about 3 pm. Dear Frontline Healthcare Workers |
Everyday Kim & I are shocked and delighted that we get to paint a massive mural at one of our favourite airports, London!!! At the start of this project, we wanted to push ourselves and try complete within a month. With that being said, we've decided to adjust our painting schedule when the cafe/bar is only closed. Let's be honest, nobody wants to hear the beeps of the sky jack when on vacay mode. We get it!!! |
Very proud of what we've accomplished so far, taking less than a handful of days off including one for the ice storm (unsafe travel conditions) and another for emergency oral surgery for Kim. But, we're back in the airport, painting the nights away and loving every moment. The staff and few travellers have been very supportive, we truly appreciate the kindness as we push ourselves this last week.
Let's see what we can do when you give 111% We got this :)
Thanks for all the Love & Support!

Trying to come in every night to paint, unfortunately Monday was an ice-day so took it off, but from now until complete... I'll be at the London International Airport daily or nightly :)
Happy with the progress.
Tonight I'm adding texture to the stones...
This is def the largest & most complicated surface, I've had the oppourtunity to paint yet.
As with any project. Fresh creative problem solving, is always essential.
In this case?....
Translating proper perspective from a distance.
While I'm sure there are many ways, to go about doing so.
We decided to use a lazer pointer, to help guide main structural lines.
It's been working super awesome!

Kim's doing such a great job with trying to follow my funny direction :)
Great first week painting at the London International Airport. From Monday to Saturday, it has been quite a difference in weather and mural progress too!
This photo was from the other night truly shows our dedication to this awe-mazing project!
