As this year quickly reaches a close. There's much reflection on everything that's happened and I gotta be honest. It's been a rough one over-all, to say the least. Of course there is plenty bright shiny moments and that's what I try to stay focused on. I'm very grateful because this coming revolution around the sun is already proving to be full of awesome potential for my Art!
Starting with having some smaller pieces hung at "For The Love of Art" Center within Westmount. There's lots of amazing work on display there by extremely talented local Artists. Def recommend checking it out! Always some of the talent in house creating live too. I'll be there painting and hanging out on Wednesday, December 9th. Starting from 10am, until 5pm. Would Love to see your smiling face! Here is a couple of the paintings currently hung

Gotta be honest, the vibes have not really been strong towards a whole lot of, if any focus with Halloween this year.
We had the oppourtunity to be a part of and photograph an amazing experience already which left us feeling pretty satisfied. However!!...... a continuance of sorts was proposed and we gratefully accepted another chance to see the daring FenyxFyre and the entire Sin Lab Crew Accompanied by a couple kick ass bands, Cross The Streams and another called, The Black Frame Spectacles. Didn't get many pictures while out. My battery is dead and I need to acquire a new charger.... it gets real in the field sometimes! Snapped a few of my first ever attempt with making a latex prosthetic. Kim looked so purdy! :) Kind of ran out of time and ambition with my own face.... so skull it was, haha. Happy Halloween All, Make it a safe one and bring all your candy to me for testing!!!! October is flying by so fast! I'm having to really push and keep up with the pace of everything going on right now. Just finished wrapping up doing a photo and cake package for a most memorable wedding of two awesome People, Kat Ferris & Angus James. Huge Thanks and congratulations goes out to them once again!
It's always an honour to have others appreciate our more observational style of photography that Kim and I prefer to explore. Rocking the cake was fun too! It was a most original theme to go along with their haunted masquerade reception. Front of the cake looked some what traditional and elegant, while the back was a nasty massacre with plenty of gore spilling out!!!!! Flavour of choice was red velvet So it even looked sort of like meat on the inside. Don't worry.... Taste was absolutely nothing like that though. A special shout out, also goes to the entire Sinister Laboratories Crew for putting on a such a fantastically hard to watch, but can't look away type of show!!! After leaving that evening... Kim and I both wondered... did that actually just happen!?!? I'm sure you'll be able to tell from some of the photos how mesmerizing of an event it was! Feel free to get in touch with us at any time, if you are...or, may know anyone in need of such services we provide. We look forward to hearing from You. Thanks for staying tuned!!!!! Much Peace, Love and Light Shane The studio is hopping right now! So much diverse creativity going on. At the moment, Kim is rocking some fantastic new basket bowls made out of the many old magazines we have just sitting around. Lots to up-cycle! Plenty of different shapes and sizes in mind too. We look forward to posting them on our online store for those who may be interested in one or two themselves. Working towards getting the online store set up is a main priority for me. We have lots of great all-natural products to offer people and it's really nice having the website store as an oppourtunity to do so.
We create absolutely everything ourselves. From website, to product labels. So our flow is a bit slower and we can't produce a whole lot at great speed, but it's all part of the organic progression towards self proprietorship. Everything we make all stems from the need for products that don't contain any harmful additives and wouldn't cost us a fortune. So we're proud to share them with all who feel the same way and offer at cost that doesn't exploit the need for products which don't cause harm to either Ourselves, or the Environment. Here's some sketching I'm working on for the label to our all-natural bug repellent spray. As the night progressed. We just sort of wandered around aimlessly. So happy to have rubber roots for sloshing around in. Got to play drums a wee bit with some other great Katz. Wish I could remember names, but everyone is so friendly and they pile up quick! Friday Night was already shaped into a fantastic evening! Yet, everyone I spoke to said..... "Just wait for Saturday". My feet had enough for a bit and needed rest. Trying to warm up the freezing ground beneath our tent was not so much fun, but we have the solution for next year!...... Hammocks!!!!! Wonder why in all these years of camping, I've never heard much about them. They're not really embraced as it should for a more suitable way of sleeping in the chill. Harvest has opened our eyes to so many inspirational ways. Saturday Morning Arrives! Bust out the tent to see a beautiful hazy morning. Thought it was supposed to rain, according weather reports. With patches of blue sky and my great distrust for what news says though. I think everyone collectively focusing on the weather made it perfect! Music starts to turn up as the early evening rolls in. Kim and I didn't have much clue about who was playing when or where because we don't have "smrt" phones and no time slots we're posted anywhere we had looked. I'm sure they we're around somewhere and we could have asked. It was fun keeping everything sort of a surprise though! Only added to the mysticism. Just wish I had known more about the live stage!!!! Next year though. Not a whole lot can be said to really do Saturday full justice. The sky was perfectly clear and I've never seen the stars so bright. Northern Lights flickering beams of green and purple into the night. AMAZING Art of all kinds, everywhere you go. Everyone in awesome costumes.... which I will be too next time! WOW!!!! So there it was and it all felt like a really sweet dream. Many examples of positive energy coming together as Community and working towards making sure everyone is having a great and safe time. Karma was all around us in ways you just had to experience for belief. Some people might even ask... how is this music festival different from any other?.... Simple! How I see it...Harvest does not subscribe to any of the big commercialization that a lot of major events do. Keeping focused on those of us who appreciate more than that. Independent, like minded People who want to work together towards building stronger and deeper connection with this giant puzzle we're all a piece of. Of course Life is not always a party full of lazers and Northern Lights.... but! principles of Love & Community stay the same. How we all play our parts to strengthen them beyond the forced perceptions of what often misleads our paths. Sunday Morning was probably my favourite part of the weekend. We we're so busy running back and forth! My legs felt like 1000lb spaghetti noodles. Resting on a hill outside the pyramid was exactly what was in order. It was so chill.... didn't snap many pics, but had a chance to rock a quick doodle.... it didn't turn out that well. So I won't post it, hahaha. Last! but, surely not least.... although I wish it didn't have to be. The tour back! We still received lots of beautiful scenery to perfectly cap off an amazing weekend. With windows down and tunes up! We took off into the sunset and started planning already for next year!!!!!!!!! Of course! Most importantly.......... a HUGE Big Ups goes out to Everyone that pulls this fantastic event together. From top to bottom, everything seemed to run so smooth :)
Massive shouts to all I had the pleasure of meeting! Smiles everywhere was much needed therapy :) Especially for reading and I hope you enjoyed my blabby blog, haha. Very moved by this festival that I'm now proud to call tradition and needed to share the photos. Much Love Harvest Family ps... if there is any particular photos you're interested in, you can reach me at my email [email protected]. or you can visit the online store. Peace, Love, Happiness Shane Welcome Friends! Thanks for visiting my Art site. I'm currently putting together all my Harvest photos onto the online store. So hang tight! Your patience is greatly appreciated as I go threw and try to post them up properly.
Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, or feedback and I will get back as soon as possible. Much Love and Light Shane I'm always amazed by all the Beauty that Nature has to offer. Nothing strikes me more than seeing light play through trees, ever changing colour combinations, process of growth and decay..... water flowing and staring deep into it!!! Just as much, I Love connecting with others who feel the same and still hold onto utmost appreciation for the most important things in this experience we call Life...... Positively connecting with our Planet and who we truly are as beings of Love and Light. Harvest Festival for me was the most perfect gathering that Kim and I have ever been too for such important celebration of the Spirit! I've heard about it for years and always meant to attend. But with timing, responsibilities and finance always a strong consideration this time of season. It's not easy to get away from things and just let go anymore However! Months ago, it was decided to only focus on going to Harvest for the 1st time and so incredibly happy we did!!! We took a loooong tour along the #4 Highway.. Stopping at a few gorgeous spots, called Hoggs and Eugenia Falls. Everything was already pointing to a lovely adventure! Rain was lightly falling, it didn't matter though because as soon as we pulled onto Midlothian Road. It all stopped!! and the clouds broke slighty for the first time to let us know it would soon be over. After we had gone threw the fairly quick moving line up of cars and lugged all of our STUFF to our decided spot. I don't think we could have chose a better view for waking up too.... or, still being awake with, hahaha. Took a wee bit to get familiarized with the grounds and where everything is. By far, this is the MOST Beautiful venue I've even been to for an event. Honestly, I've been to BPM fest in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico..... and while dancing at taco restaurants in the street is super fun...... that has NOTHING on Harvest. Anyway! FOCUS! So yah... the Artistic property is amaaaaaaazing! Screaming Heads on Friday night we're so surreal and to hear Reggae music playing!!!!!! I'm all about the roots riddims in my studio. For me, I feel there is NO other genre with such powerful enlightenment and positive messages..... Soul Food. Got to bring my lil djembe too! Appropriately named... Roam'n.. because it roams with me everywhere!!! :) Well, this concludes part.1 of our amazing Harvest adventure blog. Thank You so much for reading and I hope it's sparked a few memories to relate with. This is actually only a small fraction of my photos from this evening and I'm currently in the process of setting up a section in my store for making the entire series available for a small appreciation. No watermark and there will also be the option to have them printed on 11x14 high quality paper and shipped in protective packaging to where ever you like!
Part. 2 in the works as I currently type.... wait a minute, can't type both at once! HAPPY HARVEST!!!!!!!!! Received last minute confirmation....We'll be at Pawlooza Festival!!!! Setting up along side of Tiny Paws Rescue and I will be rocking live Puppy Portraits. There will also be a limited selection of our Vegan, non-gmo caramel popcorn and granola bits for sale. With some of our products, including all natural animal safe bug repellent, paw protection rub and awesome refresh-mint lip balm.
This is a special festival only, live Art practice offered at super sweet deals and helps a great cause. It's going to be a gorgeous day full of glorious dogs! So pop by, say Hi and get a portrait done of your Loved Companion(s) :) First of all. Huge thanks goes out to everyone that came out to Mantis Fest. To all the new comers visiting my site...
Welcome!!!! The day was absolutely full of fantastic live music and stimulating conversations with so many great conscious minded People. TONS of inspiration! The awesome response received about our work was greatly appreciated too. One of my paintings was put on the ctv news cast, as well. http://london.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=675310 Kim and I had a fantastic time playing in the sand with our bare feet and most certainly look forward to returning next year!! Didn't get a chance to snap many photos. We we're kept pretty busy all day. Once people caught onto our natural caramel popcorn and granola bits..... it was hard to keep them away! (mostly away from the free samples, hahaha) I don't blame though because I would have done the same!... Who doesn't like free? ;) One of my favourite parts was bringing my drum to hang out for the day. Jamming along to all the live music is a great source of Soul food for me. Wish there had been another drum circle take place near the end... but, maybe next time. Fortunately, met up with a great digi-doo player and we rocked our own anyway! This Festival most certainly deserves a LOT of attention and means a lot to me. It's extremely important that we all recognize the need to shift away from UN-sustainable practice and live harmoniously with this precious space marble we all inhabit together. It's time to grow and become part of the solutions!!! Support Local, safe practice and do It Yourself. Positive change is on the horizon and I'm proud to be focused on. As I always like to say......... "You have to turn off the propaganda, before you can tune into the message" SHARE LOVE!!!!!!!! Big Ups Everyone :) |
