October is def my favourite time of year! Everything from the smell of fallen leaves, excessive eating of bountiful harvests, my Birthday and of course............ HALLOWEEN!!!! As you may already know, we usually like to go pretty intense with our costume ideas. However, this year we wanted to have some fun on the lighter side of things.
Not quite sure how the original idea to be Yip Yip Martians came about, but it brought a huge smile to our face when mentioned. So the choice was set! Tracked down the desired fabric, picked up the other necessary items and with minimal direction from a web template, the construction began! Wish I had gotten more pics from that evening this past weekend, but my focus was more on character. Plus, I had to keep adjusting the top part of my costume where the eyes are attached..... difficulties keeping it from sliding around with my long hair and dancing at the same time. Kim did manage to get a few snaps of me rock'n a bit of make-up on a friend before going out though. So I guess, even though the weather is so crappy for actual Halloween night. Leaving next to zero inspiration for trekking out in heavy costume. At least great times were had last weekend and one of the joys with making your own costume is being able to pull it out again every weekend!!!... err, I mean.... next Halloween!!!! We're going to eventually need a separate storage space to house them all. Hope everyone is having or had a great and safe Halloween as well!!!! :)

Last night, a bunch of us had the pleasure of attending the opening for Little Shop of Horrors and it was hilarious!!!! Still giggling to myself about this fantastic production. Everyone involved did such an amazing job and I am most certainly proud to be a part of the Iglesia Team. If you have the chance to get tickets for this show, as I'm sure it will be selling out even faster now.... def recommend doing so :) Thoroughly entertained!!! After seeing this play, I will certainly be more cautious about feeding the plants.
http://www.grandtheatre.com/index.php/mcmanus-theatre/rental-companies/little-shop-of-horrors/ Winding down on the set pieces for Little Shop of Horrors and thought I'd sneak a quick blog in. Strongly suggest getting tickets for this fantastic production, if you haven't already done so. There is such a huge amount of work and talent that goes into each and every Iglesia Production. Really, Hollywood CGI and hi-def have absolutely nothing on the true enjoyment of Live Theater. On another note, it's that time of year again and I'm gearing up for Halloween custom face painting!!!!!!! :) If you would like to book an appointment, I recommend doing so early because I will be putting out advertisement and expect to be quite busy. Let me fill you in on a couple of reasons why airbrushed make up is so beneficial. -the paint I use is non-toxic and water based so it easily washes off afterwards. I also apply a bit of a protective spray to keep it looking great, all night long. -You can still eat, drink, and scare the crap out of, while you talk to people. -100% original custom designs ...best of all, your directly supporting a local Artist and I Love You all for that :) Hope to hear from you soon. Here is a few photos from previous years. |
