So, Kim and I had such a great idea for a new costume this year for Halloween. However! Time has gotten away and we weren't so healthy over the last few weeks, due to a nasty cough. Anyway! What we decided on is revamping costumes from a few years ago, which really.... we feel they did not get enough Love and....... everyone loves clowns, right!!!!...???
Happy to be getting into my airbrush again for the first in a long while too. Long story short... I was having supposed issues with my compressor that was easily fixed this evening. Now! I look forward to rocking much more. By the way, if anyone would like to arrange face painting for the occasion. Please get in touch asap and we can set it up. Spread Love Ya'll!!!! :) shanewilcoxartist@gmail.com

Always thankful for the many blessings that can come along with this diverse experience we call Life. Especially grateful after this past epic week of entertainment. Kim and I had the oppourtunity to check some of our fav Artist's. Starting with Dub Fx, Russel Peters, then...... ZIGGY MARLEY!! Topping it all off with a great evening of techno provided by Green Velvet. Of course I managed to get a few great snaps, my camera respectfully comes with me everywhere. Even though, it's often a battle to photographically document the experience. I refuse to accept what does not make sense because everything is subject to change. Accept for the Russel show at Bud gardens..... they were super anal about it. As long as the use of cell phones that constantly flash are ok though?.... so is my camera that never does. Technological prejudice is not alright! Anyways... Enjoy! Happy Gobble Gobble Y'all! Dub Fx was pretty kick ass, strange venue at the Opera House in Toronto though. Not too inspired to go back again for anymore events. Ziggy....... Wow! 2 hour show and thoroughly satisfied in my Soul with this experience. Def one of the greatest concert's Kim and I have ever been, or will go to. Funny crowd though, we we're pretty much the only people standing up and dancing the whole time...... until he played a Bob song. Then! The entire audience stood up for the duration, most sat back down again after it finished. But! by the last few songs of their show.... everyone finally felt energetic enough to get up, after he had to basically coax the lazy asses out of the chair! Anyway, Kim and I most certainly made the very most of the amazing vibes! :) We'll def go back to, "Center in the Square" in Kitchener again. Last but not least... Green Velvet/Cajmere! Not much to say about this night, other than it was super fun like every event I've ever attended at Music Hall, here in London. Perfect sound system, matched with amazing visual display and a huge dance floor.... pure awesomeness!
Moving well into one of my absolute favourite times of the year. Everything about fall season is awesome. The colours, smell of the leaves, fresh harvests, my birthday......most of all.... Halloween!!!! Kim and I are really stoked for this year's costume idea we've decided on, not quite ready to reveal.... but trust, it's going to be one of our best yet! All I will say is, it's characters from the 80's again. So much inspiration from that crazy era! I know!.... some of you may be wondering "How can you beat the fun of being Yip Yip Martians"!?!?! Well.... so long as everything works out. It shall be done!
Gotta enjoy these moments while we can, right? So much going on these days and it's very important to stay positive, while aware. Time to follow our Hearts!!!!! That's why I've always Loved and refuse to compromise my Soul purpose for creating Art. So Yah! We stay rocking custom cakes, making Natural necessities and generally just keeping busy in and around the studio. Visual Art wise lately, I'm mostly focused on completing the build up of commissioned pieces which sometimes happens, while slowly plugging away at my own. Working on lots of new music lately, as well. Trying to get some tracks ready for release and put together a live performance. There's just a few minor obstacles to over-come first. I'm having lots of gear issues lately and after trying to fix a reoccurring problem with my 1 and only beloved synth, now 3 attempts..... I'm thinking it's time to invest in a new one. I know which keyboard too! It's called a Novation Ultranova, if you wanna check it out. Anyway, it's tough for me to blog... but, I do enjoy sharing some of what's going on with those who care and I promise much more to come! Thanks for staying tuned Everyone, it's very much appreciated!!! Keep it Creative with Much Love & Light Shane Yesterday, I had the oppourtunity for doing live puppy caricatures at Pawlooza Fest, along side of Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada. What a great event!!!! I absolutely Love getting the chance to see so many beautiful breeds of dogs, all together in one location. So many I wish to have gotten pics of, but we didn't take many photos because of being so busy with trying to keep up to the crowds.
The start of day was moving along great! It filled up with people so fast, which brought some minor challenges for finding workable space I wouldn't be crowded in. After choosing a great spot in the corner to set up. From there, Kim and I had a blast chatting with so many people about Art, Dogs and future festivals to possibly attend. At the same time.... there was building chatter of rain and the over-head grey kept looming in. Very bad news for us because Kim and I were not prepared at all for keeping dry. Lesson learned for next time though and as the rumors became true, drops began to fall onto my drawing pad...... just after I had started a new portrait too! So, we scrambled to get the paintings into a dry space. Then I awkwardly squeezed into one of the already packed booths, sat on the grass and started sketching away. I was very thankful for the temporary space to finish that last portrait, but now it was time to make a decision. Unless the shower was going to stop, there was nothing else I could do to continue, so we reluctantly started moving our stuff back to the car and held onto hope that it would cease. Walked around a bit after packing up and sure enough...... it pretty much stopped!!! That got us wondering if maybe we.. could?........ nope! Right after that thought, the rain started falling again. So we had to say our good-bye's. Guess it's typical weather for Pawlooza though and we did get to enjoy most of the day. Plus our own puppies were ecstatic that we came home a bit early, so all was good :) Much thanks to everyone I had the pleasure of speaking with and for the huge amount of positive vibes towards my Art!!! Especially, a massive thanks goes out most of all to, Linda Collier and the entire Tiny paws Dog rescue crew for having me come out and contribute towards their great cause of saving furry companions. I def look forward to rocking live caricatures at many more. Hope to see you there. Much Love Shane&Kim Must admit, the summer vibes have got the best of me and I haven't been as Artistically productive as I would normally like to be......but, with that being said. It's been crazy busy trying keep up with everything on top and this beautifully hot season doesn't last long enough. So! it just wouldn't be right to pass by the oppourtunity for traveling with a whole limo bus full of sea... or Toronto Island's Loving party people to soak up some amazing Sunshine and Beats!
The party was called "The Hot Boat Cruise 2014", presented by Firebush Entertainment and it takes place on the "River Gambler". ALMOST didn't make it either because of traffic hold ups along the way. However, just tried to stay positive and sure enough..... we did!!! It was def hot! We couldn't have asked for better weather. Met so many great people and a splendid time was had by all. Plus! I didn't get hassled about bringing my dslr (like it should be).... so! I was able too bring these awesome photos back for all to enjoy afterwards :) Big Ups to the N.E.C crew for bringing this tour together and much Love to All!!!!!!!! and now... time for the photographic conclusion to Amandrew's wedding!!!!!!
The evening celebrations were off the hook. So many laughs, plenty of sentimental tears and super tasty food was had by all. Even though the rain fell steady, that couldnt come close to touching the great vibes. There was an awesome photo booth!!!!!! Which, I'm surprised I never got any shots of its coolness. Guess we were too busy having a great time getting photos taken inside of it I suppose. Sparklers came out!!!!!!!!!! I was trying to get some cool light trail photos of drawing hearts, but it didn't quite work out for me. However, the official photographer, Marlon Hazlewood got some amazing shots using the same technique. So excited to see the series of great photos he captured throughout. At the end, it all wrapped up with everyone joining together in a harmonious circle around the newly weds to sing the final song by one of Kim and I's all time favourite Artist's, the great Bob Marley "One Love". A concept we all need to focus on and remember. P.L.U.R Shane This past weekend, Kim and I had the pleasure of being present for the wedding of two amazing People and close Friends of ours, Amanda Johnston and Andrew Dick. It was my first time ever standing up as a groomsman too, very honoured to have had the oppourtunity.
Honestly, it was def one of the best weddings we've attended. The venue was at a beautiful mansion in Port Hope called Penryn Park. Kim and I had a blast walking around, checking out all the gorgeous old original architecture. Even did a bit of exploration and found a really creepy cool ladder leading to the attic, with another ladder we never knew about until looking at the photo..... it led to an even higher and most def more creepier attic location! Funny story!!!! Some p.o.s stole my totally monetarily worthless bike today. I did custom paint it though and my basic sole mode of transportation was loved lots.... so really its priceless I suppose. Stolen right off our front porch even!!! Guess you could say it's sort of my fault because I did not have it locked up? (most times I do). Just wouldn't expect people to stoop that low off the stoop! Especially messed up because I was just mentioning the increased stats of bike theft in this poor city these days. Now I'm part of the statistics. What pisses me off most about is that I just installed new solar power front and back lights too dammit! If by random chance anyone does happen to see some sketch bag riding my humble mode of transportation around London town. Wonderful Blessings would come your way to see its safe passage back home. Unfortunately, other than this photo of Kimmy appropriately showing off the blow dryer. I cant find a picture of my bike after I painted it.... not sure why cause I can find her's. Anyway, it's charcoal grey, with black metal accents and I painted TaToE in white w/ black accented graffiti. A Tree of Life is painted on the front and flowing back down the frame with the same style and colour scheme. Guess all I can pretty much do about whoever is that desperately lost in their Life, feeling the need to steal other peoples necessary possessions? Is hope they someday could be helped and rise above such bullshit. On a major positive give back though from this unfortunate hiccup.... Out of my reactionary mode of cruising about the immediate neighbourhood. I for some reason was thinking it would've just been leaning up somewhere obvious. I also informed some close neighbours of the thievery and gladly had the chance to reintroduce ourselves. After explaining to them what happened, Ian cracked a smile and offered me a spare bike that had been hanging around waiting for a home. It's even better than my stolen wheels!!! Best believe I will be custom painting it as well. On top of that.... he's a metal craftsman with great Artistic desire and huge potential for collaboration. Tons of inspiration for what may come. Life is always so full of possibilities when you allow an experience to just be and trust in positive thought. Things have quite the ways of working themselves out sometimes. I Win!!!!! Still....... this is not to say that I by any means accept this offense. I WANT MY BIKE BACK, YOU BASTERD!!! (not like the asshole would be reading this, but if you are? then...... fah-q!) From Deltron 3030, to Sunfest. It's been another great weekend stacked full with musical experience, celebrating Life with plenty of dance! Gotta enjoy the short summer while it lasts. Difficult makings for trying to get some work done...but, we push on!! Happy Monday Everyone :) Originally had so much to say about this weekend for a blog.... but, words really could not do the experience @ Digital Dreams any justice.
However, last night we had the chance to bike downtown and watch the fireworks display. Such a perfect cap to another great Canada Day long weekend. Wish they never had to end!! Hope everyone is enjoying this amazing weather :) |
